Calendars

How do I show my Google Calendar?

Weekwall shows every calendar that is set up on your iPad, so you add Google once in the iPad’s Settings:

  1. Open the iPad’s Settings app.
  2. Go to Apps › Calendar › Calendar Accounts › Add Account. (On older iPadOS versions: Calendar › Accounts › Add Account.)
  3. Choose Google, sign in, and make sure Calendars is switched on.
  4. Open Weekwall, go to Settings › Calendars, and choose which calendars to show and who each one belongs to.

Outlook, Microsoft Exchange, Yahoo and other accounts work the same way. iCloud calendars appear automatically when you are signed in to iCloud with Calendars turned on.

A shared Google calendar is missing

Google only sends some shared and family calendars to Apple devices once you allow it. On the iPad, open calendar.google.com/calendar/syncselect in Safari, sign in with the same Google account, tick the missing calendars and tap Save. They appear in Weekwall after the next sync, usually within a few minutes.

The board is empty or says calendar access is off

Open the iPad’s Settings › Privacy & Security › Calendars, tap Weekwall and choose Full Access. Then check Settings › Calendars inside Weekwall to make sure your calendars are not hidden.

On the wall

How do I lock the iPad to Weekwall (Guided Access)?

Guided Access keeps the iPad on Weekwall, so little hands can’t wander off into other apps.

  1. Open the iPad’s Settings › Accessibility › Guided Access and turn it on.
  2. Tap Passcode Settings and set a Guided Access passcode.
  3. Optional: set Display Auto-Lock to Never so the screen stays on.
  4. Open Weekwall, then triple-click the top button (or the Home button on iPads that have one) and tap Start.

To leave Guided Access, triple-click the same button and enter your passcode.

Tips for a kitchen wall setup
  • Keep the iPad plugged in. Weekwall keeps the screen awake while it is open; you can change this in Settings › Keep screen awake.
  • Mount it at eye level, near the kitchen or the front door. An adhesive tablet mount or a counter stand is all you need.
  • With Plus, night mode dims the board overnight and the photo frame shows your family photos when nobody is using it.

Shopping list and Siri Plus

How do I add to the shopping list from an iPhone or with Siri?

Weekwall can keep the shopping list in sync with a list in Apple’s Reminders app. Anyone you share that list with can add to it from their own iPhone, or by asking Siri.

  1. On the iPad, open the shopping list in Weekwall and tap Sync with iPhone Reminders.
  2. Tap Connect Reminders and allow access when the iPad asks.
  3. Choose an existing Reminders list, or create a new “Shopping” list.
  4. On your iPhone, open Reminders, find the list, tap ••• then Share List, and invite your family.
  5. Now anyone can say “Hey Siri, add milk to Shopping”. Tick it off on the wall and it is ticked off on every phone.

The list must be an iCloud list (not one stored “On My iPad”), and iCloud Reminders needs to be on for the iPad and each iPhone. Sync is optional; the shopping list works on its own without it.

Weekwall Plus

How do I restore my purchase?
  1. Make sure the iPad is signed in to the App Store with the same Apple Account you used to buy Plus.
  2. In Weekwall, open Settings and tap Restore purchase in the Weekwall Plus section.

Plus is a one-time purchase, so restoring it never charges you again. Use the same steps when you move to a new iPad.

Is Plus a subscription?

No. Plus is a single purchase through Apple. There is nothing to renew or cancel.

How do I ask for a refund?

Apple handles all payments, so refunds are requested from Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com.

Privacy

Where is my family’s information stored?

Only on your iPad. Weekwall has no account and no servers, and contains no analytics or ads. Your data may be included in your own iPad backups, so restoring a backup to a new iPad brings it along. Read the full Privacy Policy.
